Claudeforce puts 37 prebuilt Salesforce sales skills inside Claude, powered by the AIforce harness. What changes for architects, and how to get your org ready.
37 Skills, Zero Tabs: What Claudeforce Actually Changes
Salesforce and Anthropic put 37 prebuilt sales skills inside Claude and named the harness underneath it AIforce. The plugin is the headline. The harness is the architecture story, and it is the one worth your attention before open beta lands.
Claudeforce puts a 37 skill Salesforce plugin inside Claude, but the durable piece is AIforce, the enterprise harness that serves your data, workflows and permissions to any agent through MCP servers, APIs and CLI tools. Actions still route back through Salesforce so your business rules run. Open beta is targeted for September 2026, which gives architects a short, useful window to get sharing rules, connected app policy and audit trails ready.

It is 8:40 on a Tuesday. An account executive has a renewal call at nine and has not opened a single record yet. Instead of loading a Salesforce tab, she types a question into Claude: what happened on this account in the last quarter, and what should I be worried about. Back comes a live pipeline view, the case history, the open risks, and a draft agenda. She never logged in.
That is the demo Salesforce and Anthropic showed on August 26, 2026, when Marc Benioff and Dario Amodei announced Claudeforce together at the start of the Q2 FY27 earnings call. CRM shares moved on the news. The headline product is Salesforce in Claude, a plugin carrying 37 prebuilt sales skills for things like meeting prep, deal health review and pipeline review.
Read the press release twice, though, and a different sentence stands out. Salesforce in Claude is made possible by AIforce, described as the trusted enterprise harness that brings business data and workflows to any agent through MCP servers, APIs and CLI tools. Not to Claude. To any agent.
Benioff summed up the design goal in four words on the call: the UI is the AI. It is a neat line, and it also happens to describe a genuine architectural inversion. For thirty years enterprise software has been a screen you learn. The screen is now optional, and the platform underneath it becomes the thing that holds the data, the rules and the audit trail.
Claude has been inside Agentforce since late 2025 as a reasoning model for the Atlas Reasoning Engine. Claudeforce runs that relationship in the other direction as well, putting governed Salesforce data inside Claude. The plumbing that makes it possible, Headless 360 and MCP, has been shipping quietly since TDX 2026. This announcement is the payoff, not the starting gun.
How the partnership got here
Anthropic and Salesforce sign an agreement making Claude a preferred model for Agentforce customers in regulated sectors, delivered inside the Salesforce Trust Boundary through Amazon Bedrock.
Salesforce starts exposing data, workflows, agents and governance to authorized agents over MCP, while keeping identity, permissions and sharing rules exactly where they were.
The AI teammate in the global search bar goes from announcement to general availability, running on Data 360 and defaulting to Claude for reasoning across connected enterprise sources.
Salesforce in Claude launches to pilot customers with 37 sales skills, AIforce is named publicly as the harness, and Claude becomes the default model across Slack and Slackbot.
Salesforce expects Salesforce in Claude to reach open beta this month, with additional prebuilt skills scheduled to start arriving in late 2026.
Launch coverage collapsed Claudeforce into a single product. It is four, and they are worth separating because each one hits a different part of your architecture.
The plugin. An onboarding pass reads the seller’s context across Salesforce, Slack and any connector already in Claude, then stands up a tailored dashboard with accounts, pipeline and live data in generated interactive views. Every action routes back through Salesforce so business rules run.
Claude serves as a reasoning model for the Atlas Reasoning Engine, powers Agentforce Vibes and Agentforce Coworker by default, and is selectable in Agent Builder. Through Amazon Bedrock it runs inside the Salesforce Trust Boundary, which is what makes it workable for regulated industries.
Claude is now the default model across Slack AI and Slackbot, with Claude Tag bringing it into group decisions and Slack Code covering multiplayer development. Teams reason in the channel and trigger governed Salesforce actions without switching context.
Salesforce is Anthropic’s preferred CRM with Slack as its internal work platform, backed by Shield, Backup and Sandboxes. Salesforce is rolling Claude Code and Claude Enterprise to its own developers and knowledge workers. Both companies run the architecture they are selling.
That fourth pillar gets dismissed as press release filler. I would not dismiss it. A vendor running its own harness in production against a real revenue org finds the rough edges faster than any beta program does, and those fixes ship to everyone.
Strip away the branding and AIforce is an answer to an old integration problem. Connecting M models to N enterprise systems used to mean M times N custom integrations, each one fragile and separately maintained. MCP collapses that into a client and server contract, and by mid 2026 it had been picked up across OpenAI, Google DeepMind, Microsoft Copilot and Amazon.
Salesforce did not just publish MCP servers and call it done. AIforce stacks four things, and the order matters.
Three ways in, chosen by what the calling agent supports. MCP servers for tool-using clients, REST and GraphQL for services, CLI for scripted and developer workflows. Model agnostic by design, which is why Gemini already sits alongside Claude as a native Agentforce option.
An admin connects once. Authentication and permissions are managed in one place, and every seller on the team inherits access from day one. No per-user setup, no second permissions model to invent, no account by account re-audit.
Actions are routed through Salesforce rather than written around it. Validation rules, sharing rules, field-level security, approval processes and Flow logic all still run, which is the whole reason this is safe to point at a production revenue org.
Unified profiles, semantic definitions from Tableau, and unstructured content sitting behind the same access layer. The reasoning is only as good as this layer, which is why data work keeps paying back more than anything else on your roadmap.
What one request looks like end to end
Step four is the one to sit with. It means your org configuration is now the safety envelope for an interface you do not control and cannot see. That is a good position to be in if your sharing model is clean. It is a strong argument for cleaning it if it is not.
MCP being an open standard cuts both ways in your favour. AIforce servers can in principle serve any compliant client, so the work you do preparing your org for Salesforce in Claude is not single-vendor work. It is the same preparation that pays off for Agentforce Coworker, for Copilot, and for whatever your business asks for next quarter.
Plenty of teams already wired Claude to Salesforce through a hosted MCP server this year. If that is you, the fair question is what the plugin adds that you have not already built.
The answer is the difference between tools and workflows. A generic MCP server hands the model a toolbox: run a SOQL query, describe an object, create a record. The model then has to work out the sequence on its own, every single time. Sometimes it picks well. Sometimes it queries the wrong object, chains six calls where two would do, and produces something that looks confident and is subtly wrong.
- General purpose primitives: query, describe, create, update
- The model improvises the workflow on every request
- You write and maintain the prompt scaffolding yourself
- Permissions configured per connection, per environment
- Best for: custom internal use cases nobody has packaged yet
- 37 sales workflows engineered around Claude’s tool use and generated UI
- Sequence is designed once, not rediscovered per request
- Onboarding reads existing context and builds the dashboard
- One central connection covers the whole team
- Best for: standard revenue motions across a sales org
This is not an either-or. The sensible pattern is the plugin for the standard motions it covers, and your own MCP work for the things that make your business different. Salesforce says more prebuilt skills start landing in late 2026, so the boundary between the two will keep moving. Build your custom work behind a thin abstraction and you will be glad later.
Open beta is targeted for this month. That is enough time to do useful preparation and not enough time to boil the ocean, so here is what I would prioritise in that order.
Quick readiness check
Skills start expanding in late 2026 and the partnership already promises more integrations across Claude, Salesforce and Slack. Three consequences follow from that, and all three are things you can act on now.
Readiness decides how fast this pays off
The first shift is that the seller stops being the one who navigates. Sellers keep the application for exception handling, approvals, configuration and anything needing careful oversight, and the routine work moves to whichever surface they already have open. Coexistence, not replacement. Design your training and your change management for that split rather than for a switchover.
The second is that permission design becomes a product feature. When the interface is generated at runtime, the only durable control surface is the org itself. Sharing rules, FLS and validation logic stop being back-office hygiene and start being the thing that determines whether the business trusts the output. That is a promotion for the people who maintain them.
The third is portability. Because the harness speaks MCP, and MCP is now standard across the major model providers, the readiness work has a long shelf life. The org you prepare for Salesforce in Claude is the same org that serves Agentforce Coworker, your own custom agents, and whichever client your CIO signs next year.
Terms worth having straight
The expanded Salesforce and Anthropic partnership announced August 26, 2026, covering products in both directions plus mutual adoption.
The plugin carrying 37 prebuilt sales skills, in pilot now with open beta targeted for September 2026.
Salesforce’s enterprise harness. Serves business data, workflows and governance to any agent over MCP servers, APIs and CLI tools.
The architecture introduced at TDX 2026 that exposes platform capability to authorized agents while identity and permissions stay in place.
Model Context Protocol. An open client and server standard for connecting agents to systems, donated to the Linux Foundation in December 2025.
The deployment envelope, served through Amazon Bedrock, that keeps model workloads and data inside controls regulated customers can accept.
Here is the question I would put to your leadership team this quarter. If a seller asked your org a hard question tomorrow through an interface you did not build, would you be comfortable with the answer it gave and the action it took?
If yes, get on the beta list. If not, you now know exactly which six tickets to write.
